Cristy:

Dingbats are used in a lot of ways, some people use them to line a page or
frame a page with a holiday graphics, for example.

The square is because a dingbat is not assigned to that keyboard key.

Hope this cures your curiosity cravings :-)

Can someone tell me what do people use the fonts that do not look like
letters for? And why they make the picture the first time you type a letter
and then small boxes after that?

I am collecting fonts and noticed some like that.
And I feel like a dingbat, I think someone told me some of these are called
dingbat?

thanks,
christy
