sometimes you can do a search for the program name and find 
where some bits and pieces of it are located on your 
computer. Then - if you're sure they aren't important, 
delete them directly through windows explorer. Be really 
sure though.

I did that but am looking for parts of a remainingn program 
that I want to
delete,  It actually shows up in my control panel.  I tried 
to uninstall it
and it said could not find the installation log so could not 
uninstall.
