I insert dvd,then I have to open wmp manually, audio starts to play
& that's about it.

You said there was no error message... but, what's happening when you click 
on a video file? Or, better yet, when you manually try and start Windows 
Media Player, does WMP at least start up? If not, can you check the TASK 
MANAGER and see if its listing multiple processes of WMP?
