With no reservations I can recommend the free security services from
Microsoft... Security Essentials, Windows Defender, Malware Removal tool
and the Firewall.  You might ad the freebies such as Ad A Ware or SpyBot
and a few others as long as you do not duplicate the Antivirus service.
