I missed the dawn trick!
Do you just put a small dab on a soft rag? do you wipe it
off then?

I put a small dab of Dawn on my finger and rub it lightly over
the DVD then I carefully took water and rinsed it off. (Didn't
want soap suds in my DVD player.) Dried it really good.
The DVD played without any problems after that.
I noticed the DVD was really dirty on top (label side) so I
cleaned that side also with the cloth.
