Yes and No. The main problem is that even when I'm at home I get a the typical 404 error or time out error. I also only access the internet in the ambulance if I can get a WiFi signal when we're parked. ----- Original Message ---- From: Gman <gman.pctt@xxxxxxxxx> To: pctechtalk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Sunday, June 1, 2008 11:24:25 AM Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Re: Need help if possible Richard, Although this could be unrelated (and I have to make some assumptions to visualize what's going on here), it sounds like you have already said what the problem is. Hosting the pages on a laptop makes them a moving target as the computer is moved from one network to another for its online connection. Assuming your laptop is connecting to the net while in a moving Ambulance, it would be impossible for anyone to successfully remain connected to it during a transition from one hot spot to another. Your best bet would be to always host your completed site from an online host, adding any changes you make when you get home and can connect from your own network. If paying for a host isn't in your budget or interest, the next best thing would be to host them from your desktop system. Any modifications you make while 'on the road' can be added once you get home and can sync the laptop with the desktop. If I have missed the actual problem, please clarify the issue for us. :O) Peace, G "The only dumb questions are the ones that are never asked" ----- Original Message ----- From: "Richard Hulett" <pctechwantab@xxxxxxxxx> To: <pctechtalk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, June 01, 2008 11:25 AM Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Need help if possible >I have a problem with trying to get my Boy Scout Website back up and > running.
