I am curious about this.. I do not know if it is legit and I will NOT sign
up for it now.

It gives NO informations about them and wants too much about me.
It is not a public agency..but a private consumer services

It says and I quote

"E-Mail Marketers which use the Registry should not send offers to your
E-mail address once it has been in the Registry for more than 48 hours. If
they do, you may file a complaint at this Website"
-----
So, if they do not use THEIR registry and who knows if anyone does? you can
complain...whooppee!

-----
Again I quote:
"he National Do Not Email Registry is managed by National Email Registry,
LLC, an Independent Consumer Protection Organization based in New York, NY.

The Registry was created to provide Consumers and Direct Marketers the tools
required to help significantly reduce the volume of unwanted bulk messages
."
---

Sounds like the wolves are in charge... and hoping the lambs will come to
them for protection.

I maybe a synic...but... no buts about it..I am a synic...and I do not
believe this is going to help.. and has a bigger potential for being a place
to gather email addresses as you mentioned as one of your concerns.

I found it interesting that their PRIVACY & SECURITY link.. gives a
FORBIDDEN PAGE, as does the link FOR THE MEDIA.

I would wait until some governing body with teeth (like fines!) is envolved.
This place instructs you to paste into their complaint for the offending
email "Include the entire unedited message, with the raw SMTP headers
intact."
---
Well guess what .. those email addys are bogus anyway and are rarely used
more than once. I do not think this site offers anything positive for us.
But..it sure would be nice.

I could be wrong..it would not be my first time...lol! Ooops! I could be
fired again!

This was sent to me. Does anyone know if it is legit? or if it is a fake of
someone trying to harvest e-mail addresses?
I didn't think the national do not e-mail registry was that far along....
