HMMMMM Not sure at all man. I am also using outlook 2007 and this group all comes into a folder called PCTALK separate from the inbox. Now you could send me an email or two to albert.bundt@xxxxxxxxxxxx from that place and I could attempt it here and report my progress or lack there of. Make them enclosures ( save to desk and attach) so theyare not tainted. I could try in outlook 2007,outlook express 6, and that somewhat miserable Thunderbird and maybe windows live as I have them all in operation here on this machine. PS I would like the challenge there"Could Be" some darn little thing being lost in our email conversation or WTF who knows. In the second two I used words in the headers and used words from the FROM line in the headers. I also tried using the rule option "with words in the FROM field". So why don't they move the message? -----Original Message----- From: pctechtalk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:pctechtalk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Bundt, Albert E SGM RET Sent: Tuesday, July 05, 2011 4:55 PM To: pctechtalk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Re: Message rule problem You would have to use the FROM for the rule. Otherwise what distinguishes that mail from other mail CONSISTANTLY that the program can key to? What email program are you using. I want to automatically move them to a "specific folder". I have made these rules: From person or distribution list: certain person Move to folder: specific folder Stop processing further rules From person or distribution list: yahoo group Move to: specific folder Stop processing further rules With words in headers: certain person Move to: specific folder Stop processing further rules With words in headers: certain person or certainperson@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Move to: specific folder Stop processing further rules I've also tried using "with words in the "From" field instead of "from person or distribution list" NONE of these will move the message when I run them. I have examined them over and over, cursed at them over and over and am about to give up over and over. J Can someone please tell me what is wrong with these rules? I have a rule that moves messages from inbox to specific folder using: To person or distribution list: yahoo group Move to: specific folder. That rule works on all email except those that use BCC to hide the recipients. And this message uses BCC. --------------------------------------------------------------- Please remember to trim your replies (including this sentence and everything below it) and adjust the subject line as necessary.
