there was an article/column in my newspaper that was interesting. Guy wrote
about the spam filter advertisement that pops up when you're on some web sites.
Apparently, it goes thru installing itself, and then claims you have spyware,
and wants $35.00 to remove it - and when you try to remove the program from
your computer, it corrupts your system - or, one person wrote that it put a
virus on their system also.
It's nice to be educated about these things - and this list is a great place to
learn what is good and what is not so good!!
I was reading thru spam cop's forums yesterday - it was interesting reading -
some was really boring though! They advise against bouncing any mail from mail
washer. But mail washer automatically checks all blacklisted mail to bounce. I
believe it is their new version - maybe their new pro version, that will send
the spam to spam cop - I'll have to take some more time to search some more
about that -

The wife wanted it so she could bounce mail back from a former employer
that is giving her a rough time. So she got it. It's not bad, but I

I used to use Mailwasher Pro, but took it off this computer some time=20
ago. I admit I get things mixed up sometimes as I test many, many=20
programs. I just recently went through 6-8 SPAM/Mail notification=20
programs so all seem to "blend" together. My memory is, though, that=20
Mailwasher Pro alows you a button to open your mail program. Most of=20
these programs do NOT automatically open your mail program after=20
reviewing mail because you may disagree with the finding or results of=20
the filtering system. There are a few that do automatically open your=20
e-mail program.....but most seem to be programs that do not delete=20
mail, simply add something in the subject that says "possible SPAM" so=20
that when your e-mail program downloads you can filter the specific=20
e-mails to a folder for review. To me, this is a poor way to manage=20
SPAM. Why introduce another lever of program to filter what you can=20
just as easily fiolter in your e-mail program.
