I know nothing about how computers work, other than the basic knowledge one picks up after 15 years with these beasts , LOL! I am not afraid of the machine itself and will happily open up the "back" of the computer and delve inside, even substitute parts in it. I have actually built one myself (with help, of course) and am quite comfortable with hardware. But the MB fascinates me... I sometimes go to mailorder sites and look up Motherboard specifics... there are so many terms I don´t know what they mean and its so frustrating :o( Thanks for taking the trouble in sending me the links. I never thought of Wikipedia in relation with computing, but there you are... one is continually learning <g> Lil ----- Original Message ----- From: "Gman" <gman.pctt@xxxxxxxxx> To: "PCTechTalk Group <FreeLists>" <PCTechTalk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: 2008-07-29 01:18 Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Fw: Northbridge-Southbridge cont.` ----- Original Message ----- From: "Roger" Sent: Monday, July 28, 2008 11:47 PM Subject: Northbridge-Southbridge cont.` > Lil, > I couldn't live with myself if I allowed you to move on in possession of > an answer to your question that only allowed you "to live with it!" > There are volumes of information available that will satisfy even the most > inquisitive minds and their lust for knowledge.. > I must warn you though that when you delve into areas of computer science > concerned with motherboard architecture you will leave yourself open to > constant questions requiring you to continually research the subject. > > One of the best sources of information for research in computer science is > Wikipedia.
