You may possibly be able to fix the problem if its an issue with the burner...
by going to the manufacturer's website and trying to download up-to-date
firmware. Might help, might not... but, worth trying.
Other than that, my mind is still working, and I'm still reading (your post,
responses, etc)... I'll see if I can think of anything else and post back.
Useless Info #1... I use the same burner at work.

| (green one) stays lit. I kill Nero through the Task Manager and the access
| light still stays on and the CD icon is still with the pointer. To get rid
| of this problem I have to reboot.

| I've done this with IMAPI disabled, running but set to manual and also on
| automatic, no difference. The CDRW I've had for awhile but have hardly used
| it until now. It worked fine but now has developed this problem. I've had
| this happen with a couple different brands of CDs.

| While trying to burn I shut everything not needed off, i.e. the firewall,
| antivirus and all other running programs. I leave the required
| programs/services and Nero run.

| My CD Rom is set as Master and the CDRW is Slave, the only time I basically
| use the CDRW is to burn, all other discs go in the CD Rom.
