We´ve used NOD32 here at home for years, and never regretted moving to it
from Norton. They are thorough but not intrusive, they really work in the
background. Lots of options to set it up as you want.

I did, and I'm extremely weary of NOD32 because the site gives me the feel
of "hey we're important because we're in the news!". I really was not all
that impressed with them. So far I've looked at:

CA (and decided to send it back without opening it due to very poor reviews)
McAfee (which never scanned my entire computer, so I'm not getting it again)
Norton (can't find a suitable suite - 2 of them look good but each is
missing a feature I feel I would need that the other does not have)
Panda (which looks same as or worse than the free AVG we're currently
running)
NOD32 (see above)
BitDefender (awaiting feedback)

I'm nearing the point where suitable antivirus software doesn't exist
anymore and just keeping the free AVG. Nothing available really seems worth
spending my money on.

I've never used or serviced a system using BitDefender, so I really don't
have an opinion on it. I do know that the 2009 version of the Norton
Internet Security Suite works MUCH better than in previous years, but I
don't think there's any discount for multiple licensing below what a
business might order.

Did you see my reply concerning NOD32? It's simple enough that I would put
it on my grandmother's system, yet it can be set up in Advanced mode for
someone like me who prefers a more 'hands-on' approach. The best part is
that NOD32 is available for 64-bit operating systems, too.

Peace,
Gman
