[pchelpers] keyboard stops working while on internet

My brother-in-law is having a strange problem.
When he is on the internet, his keyboard stops working.
Also the internet will not shutdown. His mouse will still work,
and he can go to the desktop. And any programs that he
opens, the keyboard still works. It just will not work
while the internet window is open.
He is screaming for help.
