[pchelpers] RJ45 / router

On the xp machine with the router, if I put an rj45 cable from the router to
the win 98 machine, shouldn't I be able to share files?
Does anyone know and perhaps at least help me do that before I might have to
wind up just taking this stuff back?
I don't know but maybe it has to do with the fact that the old pc is win98 and
not win98SE.
