I haven't done anything of the sort. Haven't had time. Read in one of
the Dr. Gizmo texts i sent that one shouldn't fool around with the
swapfile in XP because the days are over when that was necessary. Have
heard other opinions on that though.

I haven't done anything on this puter except what's absolutely necessary
(except for spending a lot of time helping others out...) That means i
haven't done anything except shut off unnecessary things that slow down
the computer (menu shadings and other gimmicks like that) and that are
dangerous (Messenger and many other services) and dealt with security
issues. Oh yes, also stopped all except absolutely necessary programs
from starting automatically. And used DIRMS.EXE (dirms.com) for
defragmenting.

Tried Bootvis but heard it no longer does anything except diagnose. It's
boot speed up features are already automatic in XP.

...i've reallly got to stop fooling around and get back to working!

See you in a week or so

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
