I would offer them one night for one scope and the other night for a different
scope, each at $260 to give 2 star tours members a chance. We should use the
rotation system. Sam

Before I call back this event inquiry, I need to get some input from my
Telescope Team.
A dude ranch in Wickenburg wants 1 scopes for 2 nights, over a very busy
weekend for PAS in March.
Based on the distance from Phoenix, the pay would be $260 + for a 2 hour long
event per night. Total would be $260 + $260 + $25 for PAS insurance for the
whole event = 545?.
They are offering over night stay and food through the whole event. I believe
they only want one scope to attend, only one person, possibly, for both nights.
So, i have 2 main questions:
1) Charge them full price as quoted above even though they are offering food
and over night stay.
2) If there are additional hours involved, such as a 3 hour long event, no
additional monies since they are accommodating overnight stay and food.
Sunset on these two nights is 6:32pm and dark is about 7:45pm. I haven't looked
to see what's up those nights. But, since it is our Messier Marathon night, i'm
sure there's some great stuff to show.
Now the next question is:
Who is free to do this event? It sounds like you get there early afternoon on
Mar 9 and leave sometime Mar 11 in the morning when everyone else leaves. I'll
get more details if I have someone who would like to take this event.
The main questions above need to be answered.
From #1 Is this a fair price? Or should we charge less due to the hospitality?
And if we do get asked for a lesser price, what is the minimum you would do
this event? I won't quote lower prices to the lady who called me. I just want
to get an idea of if PAS Is availble and for what price.
And For #2 My feelings, which I usually tell the hiring organizations is, once
we are set up at a location, doing additional hours isn't a prob for a reduced
rate. Since food and
over night accommodations are in the offer, my opinion is to go with the
initial rate and enjoy the nights away from Phoenix. But not all of you think
the same way I do. My scope is set up, for an additional hour for a reduced
additional pay or food and a place to sleep, that sound reasonable to me. Tell
me your thoughts on this offer.
So, i won't call her back until I have some answers from the star tours team.
Please, also let me know if you are interested in doing this event, so i know
if it is worth calling her back with a $$ offer.
It's 62 mile to the dude ranch.
My thought is that they probably do not want you packing up and moving vehicles
within the dude ranch area once the evening festivities have started, meaning,
you are stuck there for the weekend. I don't know this for sure, but that is
why i think they are offering over night accommodations and food.
I don't know any more than what i included in this email, so until i call her
with an offer on pricing, don't expect answers I do not have, yet.
Have a super day!
