Terri, please provide me with John's phone number and address. It could get
really crowded in my vehicle with me and Frank and John and Ruth and all the
instruments and pot luck food, but I am willing to pick them up if no one else,

this is awesome, it is a great start.
I forwarded your paragraph to my mom to print out
for my dad, as he doesn't do email but he needs
to know what we are discussing and what
is planned.
Yes, we do need words to some songs.
My dad is preparing some items too.
We can make copies of songs and pass
out what we have at the PAS Meeting,
maybe the BMC on Dec 13, and the Tel Workshop
of Dec 20, weather permitting, to those
who didn't pick it up at the PAS meeting.
Let's keep track of what we have, and what we
are planning to do.
At the moment, there isn't anyone picking
up John on the way to the event on Dec 22.
Are you interested in doing that? And invite
Ruth, too.
Since I know he takes a while to get ready, call
him a couple days before to remind him,
and then call him the day of, at least 3 hours
before you want to pick him up. Tell him
what time you will be there and he will be
more ready than if you didn't contact him
that day.
Potluck is at 5pm.
You might want to remind Ruth to bring something
to the potluck, too.

I'm going to email Dan to see if he is attending,
as we have to get copies to him, too, but he is
scheduled to attend the Dec meeting and can
pick them up then, that's why we are rushing
to pin down the songs we want to play, and make
copies, to get it to everyone involved.

Terri, I have made copies of Beer Barrel Polka (John's accordion should do
nicely on this one); Spanish Eyes ( the rhythm instruments I am bringing
should do nicely, like the maracas, clavas(sticks), bongos, tamborine); Silent
Night; Jingle Bells; Star Wars theme; and the Beach Boys' Koko Mo. We don't
have to do all 6 songs, but some of them should work out for us. Also, your dad
said he has Ha Va Na Gila (SP??) which could balance Silent Night. Everyone
should bring a few songs they want to have us try.
Also, since some people want to sing, it would be great to have the lyrics on
some of the songs. I have lyrics for 3 of the above songs Spanish Eyes, Silent
Night, and Jingle Bells. If your Dad has a microphone and sound system, the
vocals could be heard above the music. Also, if your Dad or Bruce have a drum (
a snare and bass drum would be fine, a hi and low tom would be even better). If
not, the Keyboard I am bringing has electric drum beats for any rhythm (waltz,
polka, fox trot, etc....) I'll bring the sheet music and copies for the Dec
PAS meeting to hand out to those who want to practice. Take care, Sam

Good morning Jam attendees,
We need to discuss the music we want to play at
the Jam on Dec 22.
My dad would like to make the copies and hand them out
at the Dec PAS Meeting so that we have a couple
weeks to review, practice, play the songs before
showing up to the Jam unprepared.
Therefore, we'd like to start a list of suggested songs.
I'd say we should have at least 10 songs picked out.
And we were thinking of providing, for use, not for keeps,
the Music Jam Tune book that Bruce, Ed and I use
with our students. It's all simple songs and there are
a few in there that can be used as sing a-longs, like
When the Saints come marching in, Bingo, things like
that that are only about 5 notes in the melody and easy.
So, start discussing what songs we want to play
so we can prepare ourselves.
Send the list my way. Make suggestions, and if we can
find the music for them, we can do it. We also want to
try to keep everything in the key of C or other easy keys.
no keys with 4+ sharps or flats, if we can do it.
