The people who pick the national astro day don't realize the 1st quarter
moon is not the best time to have the viewing event. But if Mike wouldn't
mind, I'd love to put Nat Astro day public event on May 14. Mike? your
place? I"ll put it together if anyone wants to do it with me????

Mars won't change appreciably in size or distance for a few weeks on
either side of opposition. So choosing a night without interference from
the Moon should be possible without losing detail in the Mars viewing.
Just wondering if that had been considered.

the night sky not near the Full Moon, etc. Moon rise and set time, and
anything else you can send my way.
I'd also be interested in knowing how many may attend. So, if you're
interested in attending, just send back a quick reply. This would not be
your RSVP. You'd do that in the calendar once the event is on line.
