This still picture shows the backside of one of the largerdomes at the site.
There are six domes,the largest housing a 3 meter scope. At one time Lick had
the largest refractor observatory in the world at 36 inches and was the first
observatory built on a mountain top (Mt. Hamilton, east of San Jose, CA.)
