suggestion for a great side dish: Sprouts has corn on the cob @ 8 for
$1! so maybe someone wants to bring some - just throw it in a pot of
boiling water for 5-10 minutes and it's ready. (I would offer to bring
it, but I am planning to arrive later, i.e. around 6:30. however if you
want me to bring some at that time, I could. I am planning to go to
Sprouts in the morning to get some for myself.)

I suppose if people are putting their potluck items in the RSVP notes in the online calendar, then that's fine. However, to be sure you aren't duplicating a meal choice, eveyrone should probably check both locations this time, and maybe in the future, i won't bother with perfect potluck.
However, perfect potluck allows me to list how many of each item i think we should have and what to bring to the event, such as paper plates, forks, dessert, ice cream, popsicles, etc.
But i guess an email asking for those items would work just as well.
I see your point Alex.
However, for a public event, the public can't RSVP their chosen foods in our online private members only calendar.
This is a private event so it works well
i guess i should be sure to tell the public to use perfect potluck
and just have the members rsvp in the private calendar, but then the public
doesn't know what we are already bringing to dinner.
having the list in one place is better, i think...
that's why i started using perfect potluck
and it can't be that hard to rsvp in the calendar and then use the provided
link to go put in your food choice

Hi Terri,
I don’t mean this to sound like a complaint, but all the potluck
“goodies” people plan to bring are already in the RSVP notes. (At
least I think they are.) If that’s true, then I don’t understand
the reason for having the same information in two places. Maybe
I’m missing something?…

PAS Members attending Mike's party this Sunday,
I'd really appreciate it if you would take a moment to RSVP your
food in *Perfect Potluck* so that the rest of the group who
haven't decided
what to bring, can see what is coming and bring something to
compliment
the attending food. We like variety.
http://www.perfectpotluck.com/meals.php?t=GIGP3811
Go there now... enter your food... and please put it under the
proper section
There are sections for
Main Dish
Side Dish
Dessert, etc.
We could also use more large *dinner plates*,
small *dessert plates, forks* and *bowls* for this dinner.
I will bring what PAS has purchased, but if anyone wants to help
out, that
would be greatly appreciated.
PS: Some of you are receiving this email because you recently
joined PAS and I didn't see you sign up on the list serv. This
may be your last email about upcoming events. Take a moment to
read your *Welcome Kit* and sign up for one or both list servs so
you don't miss upcoming emails about events.
*PASMembers* and *PASAnnounce* are the two main list serves and
you need to sign up for one or both, your choice.
Everyone have a spectacular, astronomical day!

Good morning PAS Members,
It's an awesome Wednesday!
The weather looks like it will be decent for the July 3 party
at Mike's house that HAS a Star Party!
Please take a moment to RSVP your attendance. I need this
info to plan the parking. I will be leading the parking, so
please park where asked to, unless you see some better
situation for parking, then tell me what you have in mind.
I'm open for suggestions on how to fit more cars into the
available parking space in front of Mike's house.

If you can't get into this link, email me so i can fix your
access to the Private Calendar. If you don't RSVP by end of
day on Saturday, I may ask you to park in the Wash. So, let
me know you are attending, thanks.
Potluck...
Here is a link to your new group meal:
http://www.PerfectPotluck.com/meals.php?t=GIGP3811
<http://www.perfectpotluck.com/meals.php?t=GIGP3811>
We need more Main dishes,
and we could use some sides
Remember, bring what you can eat as a meal, for the biggest
meal of the day for you, plus one extra person worth, so we
can share and everyone can try it all.
And we need drinks brought too - a 6 pack of non alcohol, or
a 2 liter bottle is perfect to share.
Looking at Perfect Potluck, I can see we can't have a full
meal with just ice cream and Shredded Pork on buns. Please,
pop into the above Perfect Potluck link and enter the food
you are bringing to this party. Try not to duplicate foods.
Bring something to enhance the meal, please.
Plus there will be a birthday party, and Sam is bringing the
ice cream. Thank you Sam.
And we need everyone to bring a box, it can be 4 or 6 or more
in a box, of Popsicles or other individually wrapped ice
treats for during the fireworks. Please list this item in
perfect potluck so we know we have enough to share.
While we wait for it to get dark, we will first have a mini
presenation on the 2017 Solar Eclipse Trip - an update, and
then we can vote on and watch a movie until about 8:45 when
we should grab the coolers and chairs and go out to see the
fireworks and enjoy the view with the Popsicles.
After the fireworks, we will judge the sky and possibly set
up telescopes, or watch more movies.
Here's the forum thread about this event:
http://www.pasaz.org/forums/showthread.php?t=1082
Everyone should read this thread before attending, please.
I wish to thank Mike for hosting this event. And please
remember to donate $1/attendees or more to Mike for having
this great party. We need to help Mike with purchasing stuff
for the next great party at his home.
Here's the upcoming Summer schedule of events:
July 9 Bookmans Sidewalk Event 7:30 to 10pm
July 17 Bookmans Telescope Workshop 3:30 to 5:30
Aug 13 Birthday party for Ofelia at Mike's, Private Event
with potluck at 5pm and movies to follow.
Aug 20 Bookmans Sidewalk Event 8-10pm
Aug 21 Bookmans Telescope Workshop 3:30 to 5;3-pm
Aug 27 Public Lecture at Mike's with 5pm potluck and 7pm
lecture "Upcoming Astronomical Disasters"
That's the Summer PAS Event line up. Hope to see you at these
fun events. Anything not marked private, feel free to invite
all your friends.
Five new members (one is joining on July 3) are receiving
this email who may or may not have signed up to be on the
list serv. If you haven't signed up yet, please read the
Welcome Kit and sign up so you don't miss out on future
notices about upcoming events. : )
Attached file has parking at Mike's house.
Green is where eveyrone without a telescope parks.
Blue is where you park if you Have a scope and are setting it
up.
Purple is the observing area. Please, no vehicles<Parking at
Mikes Home in Carefree.jpg> in this area at all.
Also attached are directions to Mike's home for those of you
who haven't been there previously. Please note, your GPS will
take you to the stop sign at the top of the hill. From there,
you make a left onto Golden Spur Lane, and the first possible
right, at the wooden sign that reads "Cow Track Ranch" is
where you pull into Mike's driveway. See map I attached.
See you there!
Terri, Event Manager
I am the parking attendant for this event.
