Howard, thank you so much for reposting this. I haven't gotten that deep
into my email yet. And won't, i have to leave to teach in a bit, today,
tomorrow and Wed. Have to make money to pay for the trip. Thank you so very
much!

From earlier emails:
"If we are still moved to recognize Bob's life and interests in some
meaningful way, I'd like to propose that we make a donation in Bob's name
to a meaningful charity.

I've found a charity that I believe Bob would support and get behind. It's
called the National Math and Science Initiative. Here is the charity's
mission statement:

NMSI’s mission is to improve student performance in the critical subjects
of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). NMSI’s programs
transform teaching, transform schools and are transforming education in the
United States.

I researched the charity via Charity navigator, a non-profit organization
that rates the viability of charities and the NMSI receives a 4 star
rating, the highest that Charity Navigator issues. This means that over 90%
of donations go to the charity's proposed programs and initiatives with
less than 3% going to administrative costs and salaries.

Here is the charity's website:
http://www.nms.org/Home.aspx

Here is charity navigator's ratings page:

http://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm?bay=search.summary&orgid=13083#.VUZv5VwsE20

I'll be happy to bring more information to the next PAS meeting if we feel
this is worth exploring..

I'm just looking for ways to honor Bob's work and life. I'm certainly open
to your feedback.
Thanks,
Kevin"

Kevin,

Were you looking into the place to donate in Bob's name, the monies we
have collected for the Math and Science (foundation?)?

Let me know the status, as you will be given the check to send to them,
after we know a little more about it. Can you give us some info about the
charity we are donating to?
And can we have you write up a small article, to honor Bob, for the
newsletter, about how we are doing this and we will include the total
raised and sent to this charity?

I'd like to include it with the info about the Obit, for the Summer
issue, when the review of our Celebration of LIfe Party review will be also
included in the newsletter at that same time. This will create closure for
all.

Mike, at the end of Thursday's party, please be prepared to give a tally
of what monies were collected for this purpose, and give a check to Kevin
to mail to the foundation we have chosen to donate to in Bob Senzer's
honor.

Don, i guess we are doing a summer issue, so we can have all of this info
in the one newsletter, the whole Celebration of Life, party, donation, etc,
can be included in the Summer issue.

Thank you all for your help, input, etc.
Let's make this happen.

Terri, I called the Arizona Republic. They want $123.20 for 10 lines and
$9 for each line after that. That is for one day. The second day will be
half price. That means it will cost about
$220 for one day and about $330 for 2 days. I suggest just one day, Wed
or Thursday. I can pay for this on my VISA but would like to get reimbursed
at some point in time.
I was going to run the add 2 days, but I think one day is enough at
these prices. Let me know which day I should run it, asap. Also can I use a
club email address that you will monitor over the next few days instead of
my email address for the rsvp's to the celebration of life. Sam

So far I have talked to Mike Senzer, Bob's brother, Jerry Roffeld,
Bob's very good friend, and have had input from Mike Marron and Don. I
believe the attached Obituary is long enough
but I would still like to hear from Howard or Kevin as to any language
on people donating money to the charity. I need to submit the final Obit to
the Az Republic early Tuesday morning, so any additions or corrections to
the Obit should be sent to me by early Monday evening. Thanks, Sam

I have talked to Mike Senzer, Bob's brother, to obtain additional
details. Attached is a more complete obituary. Again, if anyone has any
information on a scholarship fund that several PAS
members had proposed, I can add it to the end of the obituary stating
that in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Bob's memory
to........?
If anyone has information on Bob's full time job as Omnibudsman, let me
know asap. I am waiting to hear from others at PAS on the scholarship fund
and the Omnibudsman job. If nobody adds anything more, then I will send in
the Obituary as is to the AZ Republic and PAS newsletter Tuesday morning.
Take care, Sam Insana PAS member.

I have attached a very rough draft of an Obituary for Bob. If anyone
has any of the details that are left blank, please help out and attach the
information and get if back to Mike or Sam
asap. Also, if you want to make changes to the Obituary feel free to do
so. We need to send it to the Arizona Republic by Tuesday before noon to
have it run in time for our celebration
of life on Thursday. Thanks, Sam

We need to do an obit. Rena wants to bring Joe Collins to the
celebration of life but needs help. Can someone pick up Joe and Rena in
Casa Grande and still have room for a wheelchair. Rena will pay the gas

Does anyone know the status of the scholarship in Bob's memory. Also,
should we submit an obituary to the Arizona Republic on Bob's passing away,
and perhaps mention the
celebration of life on Thursday at PVCC?
