I agree the naked eye sight of the 5 planets isn't spectacular, but the idea
of being able to show all 5 planets through telescopes all at once is a
little unusual and could be entertaining. Some college classes can start as
early as 7 am, so if we get enough people at PAS interested in providing scopes,
we may be able to set up at PVCC Blk Mtn. I don't want to contact Loretta until
I see if there is enough PAS interest. Right now it looks like Don and I are 2
scopes
for Jan 29th, but it would be best if we had 5 scopes, one on each planet.
Also, we could do another day, but the 29th is convenient for those of us doing
the
solar event that morning at PVCC Blk Mtn. Sam

Check and see if PVCC will allow us on campus that early. If I am getting up
early anyway...

Since some of us are going to be at PVCC Blk Mountain Friday Jan 29th at 8:30
am, why not go nuts and meet there a few hours earlier
to show the 5 planets. If PVCC Blk Mtn won't let us on campus that early, maybe
we can meet at Mike's place, only a few miles away.
We could open this up to the public and do a press release, or, forget the
whole thing and sleep in. Any thoughts. Sam
