I went out to look at them this morning and was wondering what all the fuss was
about. The distance between Venus in the east and Jupiter in the Southwest
took up 2/3 of the sky. I will say that both Venus and Jupiter appeared very
large and bright in the sky. It was about 6:30AM.

Subject: [pasmembers] Re: 5 planets at dawn
Is anyone interested in having a short star party before dawn in the next week
so 5 planets can be seen through telescopes?
Since some of us are going to be at PVCC Blk Mountain Friday Jan 29th at 8:30
am, why not go nuts and meet there a few hours earlier
to show the 5 planets. If PVCC Blk Mtn won't let us on campus that early, maybe
we can meet at Mike's place, only a few miles away.
We could open this up to the public and do a press release, or, forget the
whole thing and sleep in. Any thoughts. Sam
