This triggered two thoughts. First, John Kerry's fraudulently obtained Purple
Hearts will never suffer this fate. Second, Beau Biden's Bronze Star won't
either, which triggered two additional thoughts. First, how the fuck does a
fucking JAG lawyer get a fucking Bronze Star? What a bunch of bullshit. That to
me is the ultimate in White Privilege. And then his cowardly draft-dodging
Vietnam evading father has the gall to brag about Beau's Bronze Star at a
Memorial Day ceremony yesterday. I'm still cleaning the puke up from the floor
of my car. Second, medal inflation, or should we call it deflation, was rampant
in Vietnam, unless you were a Marine, in which case you pretty much had to
either be dead or close to it to get a Bronze Star, much less a Purple Heart.
UNLESS you were a staff officer at MACV, in which case you automatically got a
Bronze Star upon detachment from the command, minus Combat V, but I guess you
could always get one at the local PX uniform shop.
