We already have de facto repeal of the First Amendment through the censoring by
virtually all media of any disfavored views. Private industry has successfully
found the ultimate work-around of the Constitution, which the Founders could
never have envisioned. If anything remotely like Lee's bill gets enacted, and
the only thing that will prevent it are Democrats who think they will lose the
next election if they vote for it, there will be tens of millions of newly
minted felons who don't have the money or the inclination to comply. It will be
a great way for cheatin' hearts to get their comeuppances from angry
girlfriends who turn them in. All that's needed to ensure full federal prisons
till the end of time are bounties for snitches. The current Supreme Court is
pussified and is likely to uphold much of the bad stuff in gun control
legislation as a preemptive action to keep the court packers quiet. There are
no institutions in the country that are not corrupt. Maybe the combat units of
the Marines and special ops units, but that is about it, and they will be
compromised in the near future.

It is almost 52 years to the day that journalist Peter Arnett's dispatch from
Vietnam was published with the famous quote "'It became necessary to destroy
the town to save it." Now we have what I see as a modern equivalent of that
attempted to be justified in this widely-cited article in Time Magazine. The
stated premise of the various actions described in the article---that Trump was
going to steal the election and that massive, collective action was necessary
to preserve democracy---is ludicrous on its face, and I wonder whether the
authorette actually believes it. Given the vast and hugely successful, not to
mention grotesquely defamatory and falsely based, conspiracy to demonize Trump,
primarily on the Left but also the entrenched army of Never Trump
self-described Republicans, it would not surprise me. In any event, the article
is a typically one-sided advocacy piece which completely ignores the real and
fundamental scandal of the election---the carefully plotted and exquisitely
executed fraud that purportedly put Biden over the top in the key precincts,
counties and states. Whether the truth about that will ever come out is an open
question, but given the Left's increasingly ubiquitous control over all the
levers of the media, it is unlikely.
