Hi all,
The lamb looks so good, but I have a problem about keeping the oven on for
12 hours!
Just seems so un-green to me? Esp if nothing else is being cooked at the
same time.
I have yet to cook anything that calls for a long slow roast because of
this mental barrier.
Do you think it could convert into a braise where I could put it into a
thermal pot and let residual heat take care of it?
I know it calls for an initial quick high temp roast first before dropping
the temp down to 100C for 12 hours - I could sear it first, then braise?

Hi Kelly,
In the recipe it says:
'Lamb leg – This recipe is not suitable for leg, please use this Slow
Roasted Lamb Leg recipe
<https://www.recipetineats.com/slow-roast-leg-of-lamb/> instead.'
So maybe not. (But check out the lamb leg recipe.)
Vicki. :-)

I think in my entire life, I’ve only seen lamb shoulder on sake at a
grocery store once…
Could it do this long slow cook with a leg of lamb maybe?

Hi Julia,
As a lamb roast lover, you might like this one. I’m going to marinate mine
in middle eastern spices for 24 hours then pop it in the oven.

is excellent. But for the most succulent roast lamb of your life,
slow-roast it for 12 hours in the oven overnight. Cooked at a very low
temperature with plenty of braising liquid, you can set-and-forget without
a worry. This entirely hands-off, easy cooking method yields superior
results with the bonus that it reheats 100% perfectly and you can cook up
to 4 shoulders at once! *- Nagi & Dozer **🐶** x*
