Thanks, Susan,
Maintanance called and said the air fry pages were on page 16. All I have are
the installation instructions and safety information—no page 16. Called and
left a message and expect I’ll get a copy of the instructions. Then I can
answer your question about being induction.
The air fryer is for the oven. The whole unit I called a stove as I’m apt to
do. As to metal bottoms, don’t all pots and pans have metal bottoms? I think
some of mine aren’t quite level and that may be a problem. (Just got a call
that I’ll have the instructions today.)
Funny you should mention settling the kitchen. I had the counter set up the way
I wanted it. Then I opened up the boxes of spices I brought. The counter was
filled up again. I don’t have room for all the spices I brought. So the ones I
don’t use often are going into that little cupboard above the fridge. Borrowed
a step stool from Maintenance and will buy one of my own.

HI Jo,
definitely find myself not able to put in as much as I used to, and
1 good main meal a day is usually enough
(although there are days when greed strikes!)
Is the stove an induction cooker?
If so, you may need to get pots and pans which have metal bottoms,
and then it works much like an electric stove but with digital controls -
just need to press buttons for set functions or plus/minus for temperature
control.
I have an induction cooker, but seldom use it as I like seeing the flames
under my pans when I cook.
But it is very useful for hot pots on the dining table - as you can put the
pot of stock
on low temp to keep it simmering throughout the meal.
I have not heard of airfryer function for a stove - thought they only have
the function in ovens.
Airfrying is great for crisping up fried foods like blooming onions.
Microwaves will mush things up (as you have discovered).
But very good for heating up of more liquidy type of foods.
Hope you settle into your new kitchen soon!

Thanks, Terri. So far—so good. I find as I’m putting away the spices and food
that I brought, there is too much. Being I was responsible for breakfast and
lunch I brought stuff to cook. I eat a little more than half of my dinner and
save the rest or lunch. I’m just not used to eating the amount of food they
bring. So a lot of the stuff I brought I’m putting aside to pass on to my
sister, niece, or nephew.
I’ve always used either a gas or an electric stove that had the burner rings.
This one is a glass top and the directions are inadequate. Even GE online was
no help. After being at the Outback I brought much of the bloomin’ onion
home. My sister noticed that the stove did air fry. She said if I air fried
the onion I could crisp it up. (Is that true?} The manual said nothing about
air frying.I called to housekeeping about it and the lady had never heard of
air fry. So she's going to research it and let me know. I tried a bit of the
onion in the microwave and it just turned to mush. Being on Q no one can come
in to help me until it’s over. On the 15th—yea!
