Gary, the Dick Clark Caravan of Stars was in Dallas on the day when the
Kennedy
asassination occurred. Brian Hyland talked about being in Dallas on that
day,
going to a store to get a pair of socks, then coming out of the store and
seeing
the motorcade racing down the street. He could see that President Kennedy
was
in some sort of horrible pain and could see him leaning on Jackie's
shoulder.
Needless to say, they didn't perform that night.

Gary, oh my! Being in Dallas on that day must be a big part of you, even
though you were so young.
I was in the fifth grade, and was in the middle of a piano lesson when the
announcement came over the intercom.
Needless to say, the lesson was at an end.
On another note, Martin Luther King's assassination happened on my late
husband's fifteenth birthday.

Oh Gary, I'll bet the asassination of President Kennedy must have hit you
hard even though you were quite young. My brother Doug had just turned 8 at
that time (November 19th) and even at that age, he commented that for the
rest of his life he would remember that birthday sadly as being associated
with the Kennedy asassination. I remember it hit me hard but didn't see any
of the TV coverage until several days later as I succumbed to a virus of
some sort that night and over the weekend.
