This is most interesting, Chris. We see all kinds of ads on TV and in the
papers and everywhere about losing weight, and yet there is nothing on how to
gain it! I too am a little underweight, and have been trying for a long time to
put on a few pounds. When I go to visit Mom at Christmas, I do gain a couple of
pounds, and try so hard to hang unto them, but within about 2 weeks, they are
gone! Of course, Christmas is a time where there is plenty of food everywhere,
and nothing to do. When I get back to routine, and on my own, I am too busy to
prepare anything for myself, or even to eat, so that doesn't help.
I do like to cook and to eat, but I usually don't have all the ingredients I
would like, nor the time to cook, so I normally have only one meal a day,
sometimes even less than that. So that is not a good way to gain weight! I can
easily go a whole day with eating nothing at all, and yet many others tell me
they have to have something every couple hours, or they get faint. I think that
is all in their head -- we are built to last for long periods without food, so
that is a poor excuse.
During my recent move, I lost quite a bit of weight, just from working long
days and not stopping to eat much, and am slowly getting it back, but it is
about half a pound a week or longer. So it will take a lot of time to get back
to where I was!
I don't know how others do it. They seem to just get bigger and bigger, with
practically no effort, and yet I work at it so hard, and get nowhere. There is
just no justice in this world!!TG
it is a nutritional supplement to help increase calory intake, something
that means a lot to me and those who are constantly underweight despite
eating a generally balanced diet. We also need food high in fat, and
fortisip can help, except it is very sugary, as you would expect from a
nutritional supplement.
