Hi, Kathleen,

I'll be praying for your cousin Robin and his family. It sure doesn't sound
good. I'm glad he wants to try to fight the leukemia.

Well I had heard something through a friend of mine the blind Square was
being updated and worked on so that would work inside the buildings and
subway stations I sure hope it does. Then at least it would show us where
exits are. That would sure be a good thing. Well my mom left me a voicemail
letting me know that what I Astor for is in the mail. I should get it on
Friday. I'm going to wait till after the holiday to go down there. If I go
next week like Tuesday or Wednesday it'll be a mob scene and I don't want to
deal with that. Tuesday I went up to church or not my mail read. The
buildings air-conditioning is all messed up and it was so hot in there it
was crazy. One room I went into with their condition thank goodness. Anyway
she told me she's going to help me with the cure egg thing. So that's the
way that goes. She said she would do some research and help me do the
letter. That's the way that went. Most of my mail went to the shredder. Most
of the print stuff was junk. S o basically it's all gone. Anyway motor
vehicles return my stuff to me because I sent them the wrong thing. I
thought I could send him something else but they wanted my SSI or award
letter. Well anyway I may get another copy of that so I can send that to
motor vehicles or go up to DMV. I'm not looking forward to going there but I
guess I'll get that over with. After I'm off SSI it won't matter because
once I turn 62 and I have to return up there to renew my license or
nondrivers license should I say it'll be free. And I think that's really
good mom is in good spirits Ruth I said you guys before the news about my
cousin is not good. I don't know whether hospices involved yet but my mother
said that it was. But he's taking an experimental chemotherapy drug and who
knows if it's going to work. The prognosis your doesn't sound very good. He
has a wife and son in their going to definitely have problems with this.
Tomorrow morning I'm going to take some more books downstairs and s end
them back. I got to today that I didn't want and back they're going to go.
So basically i'm trying to get a lot of my books out of here and stuff like
that. There's still a lot of friends so if I need to sort through and I
think eventually I'll need some help with that. But that's just the way that
goes. I A lot of old stuff that I really didn't need to keep. Boil tell you
one thing I'll sure be glad when I'm back here and all this renovation and
construction relocation stuff is done. But anyway my cousin Robin is really
in good spirits and he wants to fight this leukemia but who knows if he'll
win.

Not sure how much vision if any you have to have in order for the
sonar glasses to work. My understanding of the article was that there
was a sensor in the glasses that would communicate to the person
wearing them if there were a tree limb or something hanging down that
might hit the cane user in the head. We'll have to wait till the
invention is actually up and running, I suppose.

Like you, I'm eagerly awaiting the invention of indoor GPS. I was in
an experiment four or five years ago at Stanford which sought to
determine how good GPS equipment could navigate insides of buildings.
My friend Gina was also with me during this experiment, and my mom
drove both of us. Neither of us were impressed. We got everything
right on the outside experiments but had a tough time with the inside
experiments.

I don't know if I could use those glasses. I have plastic guys so I
don't know if they would help me any. But I'm sure intrigued by that
Cain that has GPS. I hope it comes out soon that would be totally
awesome. The other thing I wish they would work on it so that
satellite woodwork inside a building so you could learn hell of building
is laid out. That would be totally cool. It really would.
Well I thought I lost my bursa Kivik it but I found it. Yeah and I'm
glad to I'm just waiting for the other certificate to come. I went to
church to get my mail red and the air conditioning in that building
doesn't work and it was hot as heck in there. The one room we were in
had air-conditioning but it was hard to tell. I was sure glad to come
home to my air-conditioned apartment. Oh man it was disgusting humid
and everything. But I got my mail read and I sent the wrong paperwork
to motor vehicles. So I'm going to wait and see. Maybe when I go to
Social Security I'll ask him for another copy of my SSI award letter
and take it up there with a copy of my application that I filled out
already. But I don't know. Once I'm off SSI after I get my dad's
benefits I guess they'll charge me more for the next license oh no
they won't either. My next drunk night nondrivers license will be free
because once you're 62 and over you don't have to pay anything. And I
think that's totally awesome. But anyway I'm considering getting the Bard
app but I was just afraid I would run out of space on my phone.

I had a similar pair of glasses years ago. I found that I didn't

this is interesting and affordable. the cost for a pair is $145 and
you can buy a damage and loss waiver for $10 per month with a $50
charge if your glasses are lost or stolen. they come with a pair of
lithium batteries and a charger. they are also available with dark,
clear, photosensitive or prescription lenses. as I am so tired of
all the limbs I run into walking I am six foot tall and most of the
trees on my nearby sidewalks are hanging to about 5 foot it would be
nice.
I think I would find these better than the knfb reader for me.

FYI
Sonar Glasses Now Available

SONAR GLASSES, by G-Technology Group, are a new assistive tool
designed to increase mobility independence for blind and visually
impaired people. The glasses complement the white cane by providing
information regarding the location of nearby objects above waist
level within 6 feet of the user (e.g.
tree limbs, signs, walls, etc.).

The glasses work based on echolocation. The detection range of the
glasses is set to 6 feet, and it can be customized. If an obstacle
is detected, a subtle vibration in the temple warns the user of the
nearby object. If the object is closer than 3 feet, the vibration
intensity increases.

Glasses are available with clear or dark lenses. The glasses have
100% UV protection. Prescription lenses and photosensitive lenses
are also available. The glasses are shipped with a head strap,
battery charger, and two rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. The
glasses are made in the USA and are backed with an unconditional
1-year warranty and satisfaction guarantee.
