In the Brooke Benton version, it spells it out within the lyrics that he kills
her, and the song ends when he says he’s pointing a pistol at her.

I haven't heard Brook Benton's version of Laura What's He Got that I ain't Got.
I've heard different versions of that song and just assumed that the guy kills
Laura at the end but haven't heard the actual killing.

Many thanks for the “Mystery Girl” album as well as the Newbeats’ “Laura,
What’s He Got That I Ain’t Got.” Haven’t heard either yet but the Newbeats’
song certainly sounds interesting. Recently I heard a version of that song by
Brooke Benton, and at the end of the song, the guy killed Laura. Different
than what I’d heard before in other versions.
