Hi, Kathleen,
Yes, you do have to have a computer to use open drive. As far as people
promising things, that annoys me too. One time I had a pen pal who stood me
up. We had made plans to meet and my mom was gonna take us to Disneyland,
shopping and out to eat. She was coming to Anaheim for an NFB convention and
she never bothered to call or anything after she had already said she wanted
to meet me. She was a sighted pen pal. I ended up dropping her because she
stood me up but she also talked about some of my other tapers behind their
backs and I got sick of hearing about it. She doesn't have very many friends
left.

I'm assuming that you have to use the computer for open drive. I have a
feeling it won't work with the iPhone but I could be wrong on that. Well
that's OK eventually I'll probably get my Apple computer set up and then I'll
have to learn how to use the thing. I don't know when either. People of
promised to help me with it but then let's see where it goes. You know people
make promises and then they don't even keep them. That's basically how that
goes. But if I can use open drive fine if I can't well that's OK. Anyway if
eventually I can get open drive on my computer I'll tell you this much I'd
like to get the entire Genesis library all their albums. That would be really
cool. OK other than that well not much is going on. A friend of mine promised
to help me take my braille writer to the UPS store now let's see if he really
does it. Sometimes he keeps his word and sometimes it doesn't so I'm not
going to get my hopes up. I really don't like having my hopes dashed when
people from the something and then they never deliver on it.

Oh Linda! When you are installing, that screen comes up that asks you if you
want this program to make changes to your computer, and you have to hit Enter
on "Yes." If this didn't happen, I bet you just missed it somehow in going
through the windows you have open.

Hi Nance,
Ive tried twice to install the program from the download link you sent,
andfrom what Im reading after Ive installed the program or have supposedly
installed the program, it says that I might need to reinstallit. Ive
actually tried to install this twice, but when I look at the programs in
Programs and Features on the control panel, its not there. When I look at
the program list on My Computer its not there either. Dont know how to
solve this dilemma. Do you have any ideas? I was hoping to share!

Hi, folks:
I have our Open Drive account going. I am not getting the unlimited one yet
because I want to see how yall like it.
Firstly, I'll give you the steps of what you will do to get started There is
an app for Windows and for Mac. Links will be below. It's very easy to
install. Once you have installed the appropriate app for your computer, then
you can log in. Once you've logged in, these folders will come up that look
just like folders on your computer. The good thing about this is that these
are not taking up room on your computer. Any files we put in these folders
are stored on a cloud online.
Public links for apps:
Open Drive for Windows setup file:
https://od.lk/d/ODhfMTc2ODg0OF8/open%20drive%20for%20windows.exe
Open Drive for Mac setup file:
https://od.lk/d/ODhfMTc2ODg0OV8/opendrive%20for%20mac.pkg
Once you go through the installment, login information is:
Log in: ourplace@xxxxxxxxxxxxx <mailto:ourplace@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>
Password: audioldies
Both e-mail and password are lower case (all little letters).
Obviously, we're not in a hurry to do this, but I think yall will really like
this way of sharing, and I know just about everybody has some great music and
things to share.
IMPORTANT: Please always copy and paste a file; please do not cut and paste.
It's not supposed to let you cut or delete, but we want the files to stay up
there and be available for all, so we don't want to take a chance!
Thanks, and good luck and happy sharing.
