Then give it a try,. By all that I know about the internals Oracle should roll the control file scn up to the lowest one that's stored in the datafiles without problems. Course I can always be wrong. Incremental level 0 backup taken on Jul 21, 2009 that completed 8 AM Is it possible to do an incomplete recovery till Jul 21, 2009 10 AM. There are no archivelogs between May 05, 2009 and Jul 21, 2009. The back up is the only back up and there are no archivelogs. Thanks in advance. Would RMAN use this control file and apply the changes from backup. To my knowledge, RMAN would need archive logs to apply redo. Would appreciate if someone could reply at the earliest as I need to try it out right away.
