Does anybody have a good understanding of how the maxthr metric is computed or how it's used by the CBO? I'm just curious because I've gathered system stats 5 times in the past few days and keep getting wildly different values for this metric while the rest are relatively constant: STATID STATUS START_TIME END_TIME SREADTIM MREADTIM CPUSPEED MBRC MAXTHR ---------- ---------- ---------------- ---------------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- TEST COMPLETED 01-12-2007 13:23 01-12-2007 14:41 1.667 3.386 707 27 105472 TEST2 COMPLETED 01-15-2007 09:09 01-15-2007 12:06 1.688 3.552 823 37 21226496 TEST3 COMPLETED 01-15-2007 13:45 01-15-2007 16:11 2.389 4.138 749 31 105472 TEST4 COMPLETED 01-15-2007 16:12 01-16-2007 09:10 1.9 4.683 798 43 89126912 TEST5 COMPLETED 01-16-2007 09:11 01-16-2007 16:14 1.709 3 758 23 3595264 I already searched the docs, Metalink and Google and couldn't find a good explanation beyond "Maximum I/O throughput is the maximum throughput that the I/O subsystem can deliver."
