Well, he is trying to solve an issue comparing output of two statements and showing where they are different. How it is done really doesn't matter. Maybe someone could use some information from him to determine if this could be done in a proc, (if same database), or some other Oracle method instead of going to file and using diff.
My point is that there are a hundred ways of skinning this cat, and I would bet there is a simple "Oracle" way to do it. Maybe we could ask him for more information like I have seen many others do in the past. I would bet the solution could be accomplished in the database and if not, then other DBA's would probably love to see an easy way to solve this issue.
Having said all that, lets ask for more information, DB version, source of each query, etc, etc.
I bet some of us might just learn something, and thats what this list is about right?
