RE: can we drop the index on composite partitioned table

The index isn't used to drive partition elimination, so unless you are runn=
ing queries that only target a small range of rows within a partition using=
 the partitioning key as a where predicate is it better NOT to have an inde=
x based on the partitioning key column.
