Hello everyone,I'm setting up a new test server and plan on using Red Hat EL 5 and 10gR2 with ASM for this one. However, there doesn't seem to be an asmlib available for RH5. Notes on Metalink indicate that Oracle will help me do this on a test bed, but on round one of the support request, the suggested solution was to 'install Red Hat 4'. For round two, I've re-requested an answer for the original question but in the meantime, is anyone using asmlib with Red Hat 5?
Where did you looked for? Seems to be here http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/tech/linux/asmlib/rhel5.htmlAnyway, you could build it from sources as well - i did it for fedora core 6 which has iirc the same kernel version as rhel5, without any difficulties (on newer kernels it don't builds properly because SLAB_CTOR_CONSTRUCTOR seems to be removed from kernel sources).
There are also two mailing lists where you can try to get some issues solved http://oss.oracle.com/mailman/listinfo/oracleasm-users http://oss.oracle.com/mailman/listinfo/oracleasm-devel though, in last time not a lot activity on them... Best regards Maxim -- //www.freelists.org/webpage/oracle-l
