We've been using Shareplex for some time. We are using it to replicate
one of the live databases to a reporting database. Shareplex suits well
for this purpose. The reporting database is also used for other
purposes, just one schema of it is replicated from the source.

Another product, that I've heard about, but never used, is Quest
Shareplex.
Dataguard was supposed to be Shareplex killer (Oracle Corp. has more
killers then
a B-movie: WebLogic killer, Exchange killer, Shareplex killer) but,
somehow,
Shareplex seems to have survived. Maybe Oracle should drive a stake
through
its heart?
