I'm still trying to keep them interested in the Oracle side, it's just that
they have so much weight in on the Microsoft side. I'm in the middle of a
multi-part series on Linux for the DBA, but they know their audience. They
are easily one of the top two vendors at PASS Summit each year and their
lead evangelist, Grant Fritchey is the president of PASS, (formerly
Professional Association of SQL Server). The other three evangelists are
all Microsoft experts, too. They were my competing offer when I went to
Microsoft and to be honest, they made it clear that they loved my Oracle
expertise, but really wanted me for my DevOps knowledge most.
If you don't have the management, marketing and sales focus on a platform,
it's difficult to find a reason to invest in it. Microsoft has worked out
incredibly well for them and it's very supportive of partners, where many
times, Oracle competes more heavily with it's partners, (just my 2c).

go. With their huge impact on the DevOps, CI/CD with their SQL Provision,
(think thin clone with data masking) product plugged in with their SQL
Toolbelt, they've got quite the customer base, with Oracle supported stuff
just a side gig, (same with MySQL and other db platforms).
