I had a similar experience with a tar a couple of
months ago. The support person apparently did not
know how to read a 10046 trace file (huge I admit but
he asked for it!). He asked me to read it and send
him the important information.

Curiously, he would call me on the phone for all of
the work he wanted me to do but update the tar with
all of the answers I gave him as if he had done the
work. Naturally, I had to update the tar with both
his question and my response.

If we have to do Oracle's second level support work,
what is the value in Oracle support? Why pay someone
else for their 'expert' help and then have to do their
job for them?
