The database I am currently running is on 11.2.0.4.0. We went and build a

I am now looking to populate my new 12c database with my 11 database data.
What's the best method with limited downtime? I was thinking of using RMAN
but not sure that's possible. We are not looking to do a traditional exp/imp
pump it will take to long and the database is over 5TB.
One way is to get a term license (e.g. 1-year, instead of perpetual) of
Goldengate. The only downtime that may be required is the switch over
to the new DB, IIRC.
Oracle has free 1-day hands-on workshops to show you how to upgrade,
coming to a town (hopefully) near you:
