MVR, Since this is a 11i database, your COMPATIBLE *should* be set to 10.2.0 as per Metalink Note 216205.1. Otherwise, you are technically 'out of line'. If you missed this during the upgrade, you might have also missed testing with the presence of this value.... However, since you already have other performance issues, and are sorting those out, you may as well stop doing that and set this parameter and look at the issues caused by this value. And unless you set this value, Oracle support will not be able to help with recommending Apps patches, etc. Of course, this also means that you will have to bite the bullet and get the testing done on the test instance and fight two fires at the same time - one of them being self-inflicted :(
here is my situation: We have upgraded 11i database from 9206 and 10.2.0.2. There are various complaints on performance. When I digged into it.. I found some init parameters whicha are supposed to be removed in 10gR2..were not removed. -- John Kanagaraj <>< DB Soft Inc Phone: 408-970-7002 (W) ** The opinions and facts contained in this message are entirely mine and do not reflect those of my employer or customers **
