I got Oracle 9.2.0.5 running on Mandrake 10.0 Community using a 2.6 kernel. I installed 9.2.0.1, ignoring all the linking errors and skipping the configuration assistants, then installed the 9.2.0.5 patchset and ran "relink all" and created a database. So far it looks like everything works but I just finished the install last night. Here is the evidence: [oracle@localhost oracle]$ sqlplus "/ as sysdba" SQL*Plus: Release 9.2.0.5.0 - Production on Wed Apr 7 12:35:31 2004 Copyright (c) 1982, 2002, Oracle Corporation. Did I mention it's an Athlon? The 9i Installer Java spins at 83% of the install. If I install the 10g Installer, it gets to the same point, then errors out with "error loading netQueries library". Hardly a Google hit on "netQueries library" and zilch from MetaLink. And running the 10g Installer without installing blows up on "getRequiredSpace". Oh well. I was hoping for an easy install. Maybe a strace of the install will help tonite...
