RE: Oracle certification on linux - it's a madhouse!

I'm still a Linux newbie I guess because this "cooker" vs. "Gentoo" is =
confusing me. My understanding is:
"cooker" relates to newer versions of Mandrake Linux which is based on =
the Redhat distribution.
Gentoo is a separate distribution which is source-based.
SUSE Linux (owned by Novell) is a distribution sold commercially but for =
which the source code is not available, and SUSE is one of the partners =
in United Linux which is now defunct.

So United Linux 1.0 and SUSE Linux would be synonymous.

So when you say "cooker" is your favourite Linux version for an Oracle =
database I don't understand because I thought that cooker meant a "beta" =
distribution.

Is the information I see on this webpage accurate?
