Hi Carlos,
Did CV Spain give you a case number? If not, please call the support directly or log into the maintenance advantage and open the case electronically. You can open tickets electronically, using ma.commvault.com. This doesn't sound right. Also, have you tried running backup directly, from the RMAN command line? Also, what is the platform? On Linux, log files are usually in /var/log/commvault/Log_Files. If you have the case number, please send it to me directly, no need to bother anyone else on the Oracle list. I will make some inquiries and see what's going on.
Regards

Hello,

Its in Running state.

From there it takes around 20minutes to show anything in the rman log and about 5 minutes for each channel allocation (24).

Yes, we had a conference call with Commvault Spain. We are waiting for someone to be allocated to this.

Meanwhile iam trying to see on where i should look since this doesnt look a CV problem to me (all other instances working ok)

    Hello all,

I would like to ask for help regarding an Oracle backup with an
    external tool (CommVault).

This is an 11gR2 database with approximately 70TB and 4 nodes
When backup is invoked via CommVault the backup takes around 2h to
start (between the allocation of channels and  “start backup”).

I would like help on where should I look to find the cause of this
behaviour.
I also want to point that other databases in the same Oracle home
    don’t show this behaviour.

    Thanks,

    Arestas

Carlos, what is the status of the backup job before it starts?
There can be many different causes:

      * Backup waiting for resources (usually channels on the storage
        policy)
      * Job throttling being enabled.
      * Higher priority jobs taking precedence

I cannot tell what the problem is from your post. Did you try
    contacting Commvault support?

    Regards
