Carlos, what is the status of the backup job before it starts? There can be many different causes:

 * Backup waiting for resources (usually channels on the storage policy)
 * Job throttling being enabled.
 * Higher priority jobs taking precedence

I cannot tell what the problem is from your post. Did you try contacting Commvault support?
