Hi David,
ADRCI can be used on all relevant operating systems, not just Linux. That includes Solaris, AIX and HP-UX, too.

    Oracle has a shiny new toy which has not been mentioned very
    frequently but can be extremely useful. Trace files and core dumps
    are cleaned up by the "short policy". It is explained well here:
