I did install the OUI that came with the Patchset 9205. Now I am beginning to get a doubt whether it was installed properly. It did ask me to specify the empty directory, I specified $ORACLE_BASE/oui_9205. Then I exited the installer and started the runInstaller from oui_9205 and still asked me to install the Installer first. Oracle analyst advised me to ignore it as I have already installed the OUI and started the runInstaller from the new location. Then I ignored it and proceeded the patchset installation and ran into Linking problems. Now I am getting a question, Why is it asking me to install the oui even after installing new oui? Does it mean it was not installed properly? OR it is unable to locate the new installer. I did try changing the oui.loc and version in the oraInventory directory. It didn't help. I thought this was OK as Oracle Analyst also said OK and so I didn't pay much attention to this afterwards. Please let me know whether you also encountered the same. OR have I done any mistake here. Appreciate a reply. -- Janardhana -----Original Message----- From: Robert Jenkins [mailto:rojenkin@xxxxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, April 13, 2004 12:34 PM To: oracle-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: RE: 9205 patchset Linking error ...... I was doing a fresh install of OEM10g that ran into the same linking errors. I used the installer that came on that cd. It looked to me like the installer fails to load libcl* files into $ORACLE_HOME/lib. You might try doing the installer upgrade and then try it. >>> Rich.Jesse@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 4/13/04 10:58:01 AM >>> Did you upgrade the Installer first to 10g (included in the 9.2.0.5 minipack) as per the instructions? 9.2.0.5 apparently won't install correctly with the 9.x Installer. There's no UNIX/Linux parameter I'm aware of that needed to be set different from 9.2.0.x to 9.2.0.5.
