Tanel, This was on a 11.5.7/8.1.7.4 Solaris box. 11i 'required' us to use LMTs except for SYSTEM and a few others - there are 4 dictionary managed and 353 lmt tablespaces, utilizing 455 datafiles, so you are right: this is a mix.
