You can install Oracle direct on OSX, it's only Unix after all.
It's a little fiddly on the desktop OSX as the software is built and
documented for OSX server, but still works. I followed a guide I found
through Google, worked fine. Not sure if it will still work with Snow
Leopard ( if you got that ) , but it worked with Leopard 10.5.5 at the
time. If it's Intel Mac, you have the option to bootcamp dual-boot too.
Personally, I would recommend any messing about with Oracle on
desktops to be done in VM's as it's far easier to blow a VM away when
you mess up, simply refresh from your VM backup copies. I like
VirtualBox on my OSX kit with Oracle's RHEL clone as guest. Anyway after
giving the Jobs way too much money for several machines I am looking for
anything to save money for the next Mac hardware upgrades! LOL!

So... I'm the proud owner of a slightly used MacBook (Intel). I know
virtually nothing about OS X or MAC's, so it's a learning experience. I
see that Oracle 10g is available for OSX but I'm not seeing anything for
11g. Am I just stuck with using 10g or does someone out there have some
insight for me on how I can install 11g on my MAC?
